If you’ve watched the Disney movie “Finding Nemo”, you will remember a part of the story where the little clown fish Nemo is trapped with hundreds of other fish in a fishing net.
How that little fish escapes is by a stroke of genius – he gets all the other fish in the net to keep swimming down back towards the ocean floor. At first it’s difficult to cajole everyone but they get the idea and finally little Nemo and daddy are reunited!
Life often throws us those nets and we can draw two great lessons from this:
- Keep swimming, never give up
- No man is an island, we can’t succeed life alone
Here’s something worth bearing in mind.
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
So keep moving, never give up! But it’s always stronger when we partner with trusted others to do life together.
